 Horsham Museum was delighted to purchase three Raoul Millais sketches recently at auction with the help of the Friends of Horsham Museum. Raoul is the only one of the celebrated artist family to have been born in Horsham, his father came to the town in 1899 a year after he had written the definitive biography of his father John Everitt Millais. This picture compliments the Museums' growing collection of Raoul Millais' work from the detailed sketch of horses and cockerel to the more fluid sketchlike lines so well illustrated in this picture.
